This project was for me to practice working on illustration pieces for a book that didn't previously have any illustrations with it. So I chose the book The Most Dangerous Game.
Planning for the Illustrations for 'The Most Dangerous Game'
Planning for the Illustrations for 'The Most Dangerous Game'
I started off by planning out a rough idea of how the book will be restructured with the addition of illustrations.
I then made a rough copy version of the book with the actual text incorporated so I could have a more accurate page count.
The cover, a spot image and a full spread were then fleshed out to finish.

Color and composition test for final illustration.
Looking up the myth I wanted to depict and more about the god Dionysus.
This was a project focused on adapting a story or myth into an illustration format.
I chose to adapt Euripides' The Bacchae, specifically wanting to depict the scene of Bacchae (Dionysus) commanding his army of followers, the Maenads, to attack King Pentheus.
